Uses and Applications for Carbon Monoxide Gas by Industry
Carbon monoxide is used in a variety of industries for a broad range of applications.
– Metal Fabrication
Used in fuel gas mixtures with hydrogen and other gases for industrial and domestic heating.
– Chemicals
Used in a variety of chemical manufacturing, including acids, esters and alcohols. Additionally, carbon monoxide produces and regenerates catalysts such as nickel carbonyl.
– Steel & Metals
Used for the reduction of ores and in the manufacture of metal carbonyls.
– Pharma & Biotechnology
Widely used in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
– Electronics
High purity carbon monoxide is used for electronic and semiconductor applications.

Description of Carbon Monoxide
Carbon Monoxide is an odorless, colorless and toxic gas. Because it is impossible to see, taste or smell the toxic fumes, CO can be very dangerous. At lower levels of exposure, CO causes mild effects that are often mistaken for the flu. Carbon Monoxide is supplied in various cylinder sizes.
Carbon Monoxide has a commercial grade purity of 98.0%; AGP can provide higher purity CO; a number of options are available below, please contact us for additional information.
